MARCH 03, 2024

Welcome back to World Brief, where we take a look at the profound and lasting impacts of the two-year conflict between Ukraine and Russia on the global stage, highlighting the challenges, casualties, and geopolitical shifts it has caused.

Wars between nations affect the world in many challenging ways. Every nation has its allies that stand up for the nation under war. Ten years into the war now, Ukraine and Russia have been affecting the world in countless ways, and the world hasn’t even recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic.

February 24, 2024 marks two years of the tragedy Ukraine has been facing since the invasion. The war between the two nations has affected the world; even Russia is affected by it in a very melancholy manner. Since the last two years, there have been heavy causalities, mutiny and mobilization in the country that started the war. Russians are also in fear of what the war is causing to the country and the families that live there.

Ukraine is suffering significant losses and causalities caused by the missile bombs, and it’s not stopping just yet. It is fighting the unstoppable attacks and Russia’s relentless efforts to invade more grounds. Ukrainians are enduring the continued atrocities from Russia that have caused a lot of fear, heartbreak, and suffering.

We can all sense the darkness that descended upon Kyiv two years ago, even though Ukrainians thought Moscow was bluffing. Ukraine’s well-being has been dependent so much on the West. However, with slow response, it has been challenging for the nation to come out of this war; Zelenskyy stated that they are losing more troops because of delayed action from the West.

Putin is confident and senses the tide turning in his favour; however, Ukraine is fighting for survival and will not give up so soon.
